April 3, 2025 - Jeff's RV-7 Project

You may recall Bruce's friend Jeff's RV-7 project.  Last year about this time I helped Jeff fit the wings and empennage to the fuselage.  Link.  In the last year he's gotten a lot done.  Today, we drove down to Treasure Coast International Airport where Jeff's RV-7 fuselage is in the Treasure Coast Avionics hangar having the electrical sytem, panel and avionics installed.

Here Jeff is standing by his RV-7 fuselage with a big RV grin.

The wire runs are just about done and looking good.

Clean firewall.

I couldn't get over this funky looking tri-motor.   It's a 1976 Britten Norman BN 2A III 2 Trislander.   80 were manufactured between 1970 and 1982.

This airport brings back memories.  In 2013, twelve years ago, then called St. Lucie County International Airport (KFPR) although everyone calls it Ft. Pierce,  was where I staged my Bahamas flight out of.  My co-pilot Jack and I stopped here, had breakfast at the on-field Tiki restaurant, rented a life-raft, and then launched for Marsh Islands, one of the outer Bahamas islands.  Link.
